This bas-relief sculpture was the cover of the Tall in-folio “Sigmund Freud : Moïse et le Monothéisme” published by Editions Art & Valeur, Paris, in 1974.

Dalí was directly inspired by the marble Moses sculpted by Michelangelo for the second tomb of Pope Julius II, created between 1512 and 1516, which is located in the Church of San Pietro in Vincoli in Rome.
